DANNY TIATTO - MORE INFO
************************

Following last night's revelation that Australian Danny Tiatto may be
a transfer target for Palace, Ian Underwood from Sydney tells us...

"Information on ex-Melbourne Knights, wing back Danny Tiatto is
hard to come by and may not have Palace supporter frothing at the
  mouth with anticipation.

"He's been a fringe player for the Socceroos since representing
his country at U-23 level at the Atlanta Olympics.

"He gained one cap under Venables (a 1-0 victory over Macedonia),
but failed to impress him enough to be considered selection
material for the vital World Cup qualifiers.

"He's considered to be talented but also a bit of a hothead, and
has been sent off at U23 level...maybe El Tel can bring out the
  best in him."

And, DAVID MURRAY in Budel, Holland found this......

Villa target Tiatto Thursday, May 7, 1998 John Gregory's first
signing for Aston Villa may be a player who eluded him when he was
manager of Wycombe. Australian defender Danny Tiatto, 24, is on
trial, having guested for Villa in a friendly match at Port Vale on
Tuesday. Gregory said:

'I'm looking for one or two squad players as cover for the regular
first teamers and Danny comes into that category.'

Wednesday. The 24-year-old left-back has spent the last six months
of the season on loan at Stoke City from his Swiss club FC Baden.

Villa in a testimonial game on Tuesday and is spending the rest of
the week on trial. Gregory, who was interested in signing Tiatto
earlier in the season while manager of his previous club Wycombe
Wanderers, said: "I'm looking to sign one or two squad players
during the summer and Tiatto could fit the bill. "We are having a
closer look at him in training this week and will take it from
there." Stoke, relegated from the first division after Sunday's 5-2
home defeat by Manchester City, had an option to buy Tiatto for
300,000 pounds ($498,000) at the end of the season. But all transfer

GOLDBERG'S ASSURANCE
********************

Crystal Palace supremo Mark Goldberg has allayed fans' fears by
stating that star duo Attilio Lombardo and Matt Jansen will remain
at Selhurst Park next season. Both were expected to depart after
Palace's woeful showing last term, but Goldberg has assured fans that
they will remain Eagles players. He said:

"Attilio will lead us along the way and hopefully be part of it
for two or three years. We did receive a quite attractive offer
from Southampton for Matt Jansen but I am convinced he will be
    staying."

GRIFFIN FOR BEES
****************

Former Palace Chairman Ron Noades is hoping to tie up the deal to
take Eagles Chief scout John Griffin to Brentford later this week.
Griffin has reportedly been offered around a 100,000 a year deal to
join Noades and Ray Lewington at the Third Division side, and is
likely to put pen to paper on Thursday, when Noades comes back from

Griffin does leave Terry Venables to bring in his own man.

Meanwhile, it has been revealed that Ray Lewington, who is joining
