Aston Villa are considering signing Australian international defender Danny Tiatto, manager John Gregory said on Wednesday. The 24-year-old left-back has spent the last six months of the season on loan at Stoke City from his Swiss club FC Baden. Tiatto, who has an Italian passport, made a guest appearance for Villa in a testimonial game on Tuesday and is spending the rest of the week on trial. Gregory, who was interested in signing Tiatto earlier in the season while manager of his previous club Wycombe Wanderers, said: "I'm looking to sign one or two squad players during the summer and Tiatto could fit the bill. "We are having a closer look at him in training this week and will take it from there." Both were expected to depart after Palace's woeful showing last term, but Goldberg has assured fans that they will remain Eagles players. He said: "Attilio will lead us along the way and hopefully be part of it for two or three years.
